Working Together - Hildegard Wismayer

The first consultation

The initial consultation gives us an opportunity to meet face to face. It will allow you to talk about why you are looking for support from a therapist and ask any questions you might have about me, the process of therapy, or how we might work tgether. I am aware how difficult it can be to talk about sensitive issues and will be guided by you and the time and space you might need. When meeting with a couple I aim to offer a neutral environment, so that partners with different feelings, attitudes and expectations will have an opportunity to be heard.

Confidentiality

I will treat what you tell me as confidential as far as the law and ethical guidelines of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) allow.

If we agree to work together and meet on a weekly basis, each session normally lasts 50 minutes for individuals and 65 minutes for couples. We can work for an agreed number of sessions or in a more open ended way. I normally have daytime, evenings and appointments on a Saturday available. If you have any questions about how I work, please do contact me and ask. Finding a therapist who suits you is an important step to take.
